GOVERNING BODY AIMS  

Training & Learning    

  • To encourage the raising of standards of attainment in all aspects of school life thereby helping all students to reach their full potential
  • To provide an inclusive education which ensures equal opportunities for all
  • To raise awareness that all learners adopt healthy lifestyles and that staff are aware of the healthy lifestyle policy and implement it
  • To encourage staff to develop themselves through continuous professional (CPD) so that all pupils are working at a level appropriate to their ability

Environment  

  • To provide a suitable learning environment which provides sufficient space for the curriculum to be delivered
  • To provide adequate resources and create an environment which is both secure and supportive to students' learning
  • To ensure that resources are used efficiently to ensure that the school's aims, values and policies are delivered effectively
  • To ensure that buildings are maintained with regard to the health and safety of all

    
Leadership, Management & Financial Resources  

  • To provide sound leadership and management who will ensure all priorities are met
  • To set realistic targets and monitor the strategies the school is using to achieve them
  • To promote a zero tolerance of bullying in the school
  • To play a positive role in the recruitment and selection of all staff

Ethos    

  • To maintain a broad and balanced curriculum which reflects the Catholic ethos of the school
  • To operate an admissions policy which positively discriminates in favour of baptised Catholics
  • To foster in school a caring community whose basis is tolerance, a demand for justice, a hatred of all unfair discrimination and a special concern for the poor and helpless
  • To encourage the school community to be responsible members of society who are always aware of God's presence in all things
  • To ensure that religious education is given 10% of curriculum time
  • To ensure that collective worship takes place each day
  • To encourage the school to integrate with parishes and local communities
