All About Our Uniform

A high standard of appearance indicates a positive and orderly approach to school life.  It demonstrates conformity to school discipline and recognition that attendance at school is separate from social life.  This ensures a proper attitude to, and a sharper focus on work.

Hair and Make up

  • Hair should be neat and tidy.
  • Extremes of hair fashions are not allowed.
  • Hair must not be dyed an unnatural colour.
  • Hair must not have patterns shaved into it.
  • Students are not allowed to wear blusher, lipstick, lip-gloss, mascara, eye shadow, or eyeliner.
  • Students will be asked to remove excessive foundation or concealer
  • Students are not allowed to wear nail varnish or false nails.
  • Students are not allowed to wear baseball caps – except in very hot weather, in summer, when they will be informed of this temporary change in rules.

Jewellery

  • Students may wear a watch and a small plain cross or crucifix.
  • Students may wear one pair of small stud earrings.
  • No other jewellery is allowed.

Black Blazer

  •  School badge should be purchased form the school office.
  • Blazers should be worn to and from school and at all times during the school day.
  • Students should request permission to remove their blazer.
  • Coloured jackets, tops, sweatshirts or jumpers must not be worn at any time in school.
  • An outdoor coat may be worn on top of the blazer if required, but must not be worn inside the classrooms.

Long-sleeved v-neck black jumper or cardigan

White long or short sleeved shirt or blouse

  • Must be long enough to tuck into trousers or skirt.
  • Must be tucked in at all times.
  • Must button up to the neck.
  • Only the top button may be undone and the tie must cover it.

Tie

  • Clip on ties must be worn.
  • Must be purchased from the school office
  • Must be worn so that it covers the top button.
  • Knot should be visible above the jumper or cardigan.

During the summer if the weather is extremely warm the Headteacher will decide if it is appropriate for students to remove their ties.

Black Trousers / Skirt

  • Trousers and skirts should be plain, and have no adornments.
  • Skirts should be of an acceptable length
  • Only plain black leather belts are allowed.

Black Shoes

  • Low heeled black shoes.
  • Sandals or trainers are not allowed (If a student needs special consideration for health reasons, please contact school).

Students’ belongings should be labeled clearly

Mrs Dixon, Assistant Headteacher, will make the final decision regarding suitability for school

Equipment

Every student is expected to provide a suitable bag and the following basic items of equipment for every lesson:

Pen (and a spare!)  Pencil
Pencil eraser   Pencil sharpener   
Ruler Calculator

If possible, students should provide their own pair of compasses, protractor and set square

Tippex/liquid paper is not allowed in school and must not be used in any school work

An apron MUST be worn for Technology – obtainable for £3.50 from school
